You are the expert on yourself. Then what’s a therapist's role? I believe a genuine, safe work relationship with my clients is the catalyst of change. Acceptance is the basis for our exploration. Together we can discover your potential as a freer, a more grounded person. It's critical to recognize your deep emotions. Often, we are afraid of these intense negative feelings:
“What if I cry my eyes out?”
“What if I am carried away by a flood of emotions?”
“What if I am so angry that I might do something destructive?”
Here, even as an experienced psychotherapist, I am also afraid at times. We will face these fears and unwanted emotions together. Having someone there with you at these low points is the experience where you uncover your strength. I believe existential thoughts and beliefs affect our daily choices. This may be a bit philosophical but it is worth unveiling. My goal is for you to feel more empowered to love, to work, and to play.
